MISS VETRINA DEL PARCO 2010

 
              
               On august 28th, 2010 will proceed the third edition of Miss Vetrina del Parco, which is a procession of old costumes of the area.

               Publication of the book written by Maria Laura Castellano telling the history of Roscigno Vecchia to the Giannini editions. Also exist in French and English version.

 

               This book tells the history of Roscigno Vecchia, of its delocalizations during centuries because of movements of ground until its current site. Through the oldest files, and testimonys of old people, the author describes the length and painful transfer of the old village towards the new one. While set up the new village, the inhabitants continued to like and preserve the old one.
               The book is the result of a close cooperation between the villagers who brought their memories and the descendants of the emigrants throughout the world who sent photographs of their grandparents left to the research best intended.

                                       CONTEST OF POETRY


                   The Fifth edition of the Contest of poetry will be held in Roscigno on September 13, 2009. It is opened with all the Italian poets and writers or of origin Italian. You will find all the information here.

                   Each year in mid-September, Roscigno accomodates during one week of the Americans, members of Roscigno-Vecchia Foundation, who come to discover the village, the houses of their ancestors who emigrated in the United States. Their own consents, it is a trip very moving.


                 The Pro Loco organizes with their intention of the visits of the area, thus that of the folk demonstrations, and the reconstitutions by the voluntary ones of association themselves, of scenes of the life of formerly. Each time, this event gains a sharp success.

It is with sadness but also with a certain pride; because they are proud to belong to these men and these women, who they set out again in USA, like made their ancestors.

                 This year one also celebrated the 25 years of the Pro Loco, 25 years of baited work, passion and perseverance. That it to them is paid here homage.

               Another demonstration this year, the international contest of poetry. The poems held always an important place in the heart of the Italians and are indissociable of their culture. Here 3 poetries, extracted the collection of poetries “La mia Roscigno” by Lucia Clemente.




                                             THE SON

“It was born And it is a male! “ This exclamation ran
quickly Of house in house The news was spread,
A such oil task,
In all the country.
It was a so much wished boy, wire,
What would create much less problems
To ensure continuity
Name and of the family.




                     THE GRANDMOTHER WHO SLIPPED BY

The small old woman passed
Most clearly of its time
To slip by.
Children, daughters-in-law and grandchildren,
All had great requirements in knittings, shawls and socks,
And it, of its expert hands,
It made turn the spindle
And slipped by, slipped by, slipped by.




                                              SUNDAY

Turned over jackets
But carried like new,
Waxed shoes
And faded a little,
Short hair cut by the grandmother
With a bowl,
Socks assembled to the knee
With the rubber band,
Cheeks skin of painted fishings
By the wind
And coloured lips
By the fruits of season.
Thus one embellished itself
To go to the mass
Sunday!
So awkward with the outside
But so beautiful and serene with-inside!
